As part of the Wachakuy<\/em><\/strong> Program (to give birth in Quechua), this is an educational\/ experiential\/ medicine course created to accompany both mothers-to-be and mothers especially, but also midwives, doulas, other birth workers and women in general interested in delving deeper on the Mysteries around Birth on their particular journeys. The vision of the program is to remember that as women we all have the birthright to live the experience of birth as sacred<\/em>, whatever the culture we come from. This whole Woman Medicine program is centered on the Andean sacred teachings around pregnancy, birth, and pospartum, understood as one Rite of Passage, braided with other sacred techniques and teachings (from the North & the world).<\/p>

This Conscious<\/em> Birth Preparation is an 16-hour full-in-depth course, consisting of 8 sessions (2 hours each), which includes conscious pregnancy\/ birth preparation, birth, and postpartum teachings rooted in the Andean wisdom of the Ukhu Pacha<\/em>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

We will explore key aspects of the experiences of pregnancy and birth & early postpartum, understanding them as part as one of the most intense and important Rites of Passage of the feminine vital cycle, which brings with itself diverse opportunities of self-knowledge, personal growth, and healing for a woman.<\/em><\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

This Birth Preparation course is centered in understanding deeply the complex transformations that involve to the woman being pregnant and harboring a new life inside, up to giving birth to this life to the world and becoming a Mother. Andean wisdom offers an integral understanding to better transition through this experience. Birth is considered a Rite of Passage on itself, and pregnancy the path conducing to it. This involves moments of wholeness, joy and connection, as well as processes of doubt, emotional instability, insecurities, and profound fears, as one is touching the mysteries of Life and Death. Pregnancy and birth are considered bridges<\/em> to another Reality, that of the Ukhu Pacha<\/em> (the Within Reality), where one enters her own darkness, her inner world \u2013 and where one can find her force. Thus, pregnancy is a perfect moment to integrate, as well as to let go of what may be needed, and in this way \u201cmake space\u201d in order to give new life. We will offer a safe space to make this personal work in a conscious and creative way. This part of the program will help us to recognize and deepen in the true \u201cresources\u201d with which we will count during the infinite space-time of Birth. This course also includes the important & basic understanding of how our bodies work at birth (physiology of birth & hormones involved), pre-natal full-scope nutrition as the key to a healthy pregnancy, pregnant body awareness (including belly-mapping<\/em>), the differences between an undisturbed and medicalized birth, options & choices at birth, discussion of labor pain (facts & myths), and the holistic stages of labor from a perspective of the lived experience of birthing women.<\/p>

We will also do deep work with fears<\/strong> which rise up spontaneously before every birth (beacuse of being in touch with the Mystery of birth, whether it is our first or third baby!), attending to them without ignoring them, with 2 methodologies. With the Pot of Fears, a profound and ritual process, and with the Birth Tiger Safari methodology, from the Birthing from Within <\/em>program, working with the subconscious to transform how you think and feel about the fears of your upcoming birth.\u00a0<\/p>

We believe that at a core level, raising & protecting woman\u2019s autonomy at birth is the key goal for truly satisfying, nurturing, and healthy birth outcomes. Although midwives and doulas are there to support us in this journey, it is important to remember not to give away<\/em> our power, choice or intuition, even to the caring professionals supporting us. A genuine conscious birth preparation process enables us to come to our core, our center as powerful birthing women, ultimately trusting our freedom & wisdom throughout our Journey at birth, truly coming to know in our bones that we<\/em> are the center of our births – together with our partners if that is the case. The evidence also shows that women that follow more intuitive and at the same time serious birth preparation (that awakens and strengthens their primal brain & trust in their birthing bodies and connection to their babies) are more likely to have completed planned homebirths (with no referal to a hospital) \u2013 regardless of hiring a good midwife.<\/p>

From ancestral and feminine (birth) wisdom, ritual, art therapy, pre-natal chanting and sound, meditations to connect ourselves to our wombs and babies, drum journeying, peri- & prenatal psychology, labyrinth symbolism for birth, deep work with our birthing fears, and conscious body movement, we will navigate together through an inner-collective journey which will help us to enter into this source of healing and transformation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
